Ok, I might be a bit harsh with that title, but with this game, it feels not too far off. In Only Way Is Down, you’re a cat stranded on top of a building in construction, near other buildings under construction. With not a single helpful construction worker in sight, you have to engage in some 3d precision platformer action to get down.
It’s a fairly unforgiving game that will have your cat ragdoll the second it gets too close to an edge and fall, playing some sad music with it. You’ve got 9 lives to complete it, with checkpoints along the way, but in giving it some time and a few restarts, it’s certainly not for me. It’s nice you can pick the fur for your cat, given a decent amount of options, but I can’t say you should make it look like your cat if you have one. Given the nature of the game, it’ll die, a lot. You don’t want to see that, no one really wants to see that.
The demo’s still available, if you’re a glutton for punishment. The trailer shows the gameplay fairly well, and you can see how easy it is to lose an attempt. It’s got a release date planned for this year, but no further details on it’s page as to exactly when or at what price.
