What if Overcooked was a tower defense? Well, then you get Kitchen Crisis. Kidnapped by aliens, you have to feed them for your freedom, or be their next meal.

You have to set up stations for you and your clones to get ingredients from, prepare, and serve on the counter which acts as the “tower”. It fires out the meals to oncoming aliens, lowering their hunger instead of their health. As you complete levels, you can learn and swap out recipes, with some recipes being more complex, but also hitting harder. You also earn currency to upgrade ingredients to do such thing as slow, or restore more hunger, or affect multiple targets. The appliances also get upgrades, each having 10 upgrades, mostly aimed at lowering the time to use them.

Once you’re done a run, you can apply skill points to a tree, which means you can eventually allow more than one user at a cooking station and other significant buffs.

I’m interested in seeing what the full version will play like, in the demo the best way to handle stations is to lock people in. As you can increase base speed, and allow people to use more than one station, that may change to a more central kitchen. Also, there appear to be other chefs you can use later on with their own stats.

You can try out it’s demo still on its Steam page.
