Idle fields is an idle game that has you playing a mushroom person who does a lot of the normal farm sim activities such as fishing, farming, and fu…rnishing.

It has a fairly active early game for an idler, requiring you to manually pick your crops after waiting for them, or to swing your axe, or make sure your cooked food doesn’t burn. You gain experience in each skill every time you complete it, and at level 5 you can start to hire workers to take over those tasks for you. Fishing being an outlier, which just auto-casts and there doesn’t seem to be any sort of inventory limits. Making it perfect for letting it idle and sell the fish for easy money. Later on, you use the wood you harvest and saw up to decorate your barn.

As far as idle games go, the the number go up aspect doesn’t seem to really be a huge part of the game. It’s very cozy and chill, but there is just something lacking in the gameplay to grab me personally. It’s got good vibes, but I feel like the decorating the barn wasn’t enough of an endgame to really think about why I’d want to invest the time into it.

The game is set to go live on February 20th and the demo is available on it’s Steam page until then. The dev has communicated some goals for release and post-release ideas on where to take the game. It seems a lot like a first game for them and may be one to watch if it doesn’t immediately grab you, but this seems like your jam.
