Real Time Strategy games have really fallen off in favor of other genres, which is a shame. Thankfully, Grey Galactic has it’s twist on it and a bit of 4X in my opinion.

Grey Galactic has you starting off on planets, where you need to build around the natural resources, as well as build a spaceport so you can get off the ground. You’re going to have scouts, who can fly pretty freely, but, lack the punch of the larger ships, who move between planets and spaceports only. As you claim planets by orbiting them, you can build on them for resources as well.

In standard RTS fashion, your opponent is on the far side of the map and is working on conquering the area in the same fashion. The ai being decently strong and pushed me back on the final level a bit, a good thing to see. Too often the demos are pushovers, and the solo dev behind the game is taking balance seriously based on their Steam page. They state they’ll first launch in early access come April 30th, and you can still try the demo.
