An isometric action tower defense game, Crypt Crawler is by a handful of local indie devs. I’ll try to avoid too much of a bias here despite seeing some of them last night. In fact I’m going to be nervous I’ll be too harsh or not say enough here for when I see them again.
You’re a little goblin, and while you can attack the different monsters you’re facing directly with your hammer…it’s best to set up the various traps and towers to do the work for you. It starts a bit slow in the tutorial in adding more, but the level design keeps adding more. You’ll see that a lot of switches and treasure chests you’ll open trigger other sections of the map. I didn’t get a chance to check out the co-op, as it’s hard to drag my wife into playing all these demos with me, but, it was fairly easy to keep up with solo.
Every floor has the goal of activating the elevator and moving deeper into the dungeon, with 16 floors to be included in the full version, and a procedurally generated dungeon mode to add replayability.
Crypt Crawler has a planned release date of February 4th 2025 and the demo is still available to play.
