So one of the first games I’ve dug into for this Next Fest (not counting those released well ahead of it) is Clicker Conquest. A simple, clicker game where you’re defending the gold mine from intruders. You have to pay upkeep daily working on the mine, as well as most upgrades you get, so you gotta get clicking fast…or get an auto-clicker.

It’s got some fairly simple pixel graphics, and fairly simple mechanics…you click on the gold mine to mine or on enemies to damage them. There are two parts to the map, and while it’s not clearly explained early on, it becomes obvious the little arrows in the bottom left swap between them (or hotkeys w/s, not that this seems to be noted anywhere). You’ve got your various advisers to sell upgrades, mostly for gold, aside from the jester that handles skills from leveling up as you collect XP. You’ll catch events, most of which will have consequences either way, in the form of later events. As there are only 20 days, you won’t see the culmination of most of them, but, it’s probably the best aspect of the game.

If you like clicker games, this ones got a hard limit to what you can do for the demo, and no save, so you can only dump so much time into it. With Next Fest just starting, the demo’s up early and the game doesn’t have a release date, so there is no telling how long you have to try it.
