Bloomtown has you as young siblings shipped off to your Grandfather’s for the summer. It’s a tale as old as time, and similar to any other story like it, you’re about to get in over your head.

The game features a bit of hanging around town, making new friends in a new area, and helping your Grandfather. However, after a neighbourhood kid goes missing, things turn to the occult as you’re forced to make a deal with demons to fight back.

This is where Bloomtown’s RPG aspect comes in, featuring classic turn-based gameplay. Each characters demons essentially acting as their special abilities. The demo takes you through one early dungeon section and against a mini-boss where it ends.

Created by the folks behind Graveyard Keeper, the sound and pixel graphics are top notch, and overall played well. It seemed like there was a bit of customization you could do for each character as they leveled, giving that extra bit of depth to the whole game.

The Demo for Bloomtown is still available, but it’s also just released with a base price of 24.99. It’s well worth picking up for anyone looking for a classic style rpg, but maybe a more modern story and setting than the usual fantasy fare.
