So, Elroy and the Aliens is a gorgeously animated game, with the demo taking you through the start and through the motions of how to progress a traditional point and click game. You’re grabbing anything that’s not nailed down it seems, and using it on other things.

You start off with looking to show off a prototype of your rocket, as Elroy, a sorta slacker genius scientist. Also, the son of a famous archeologist who went missing decades ago. While not featured in the demo, you do also supposedly get to play as Peggie, a journalist who you partner up with at the start, who is meant to interview you and see your test firing happen. Now, because stories are nothing without conflict, you’re faced with puzzles to get your rocket working. Even when it does finally launch at the end of the demo, it trashes your home, uncovering a hidden message from your long lost father, and setting you up for the rest of the game.

The writings well interspersed with humor, the arts great, the puzzles take a bit of a thought, but nothing too onerous, and it’s voiced! The game just launched this week (oops, another late demo review) and it’s under twenty dollars, a steal for what you’re getting.
